Katie Hilton: New Chair For Family Resources Committee
Katie Hilton, LMSW (which means licensed master social worker) recently joined St. Francis of Assisi with her husband, Drew, and responded to our call for help. Katie’s mother was president of SVdP at St. Mark’s, where Katie volunteered starting as a child. “Growing up the organization has always been a part of my life,” Katie said.
SVdP Conference St. Francis is pleased to welcome Katie as our new Family Resources Chair, succeeding Kendra Vogt, who remains a member of the committee. Thank you, both Katie and Kendra, now a committee of two (hint, hint, that committee needs more members!).
Katie received a masters in social work with an emphasis on direct practice mental health from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is currently studying for an advanced clinical license to be a LCSW, and hopes to complete the requirements by March 2010. Katie leads group counseling sessions for the exclusively women’s program at Northpointe family center in Carrolton.
“Helping empower women is one of my passions,” she says. “I look forward to working with Saint Vincent de Paul to continue empowering those in need in our community.”
And SVdP looks forward to working with Katie. Today she completed Client Advocate training along with Simone and Leonard Andrade and Enrique “Henry” Orozco.
