Fundraising Tips:
• Donate to yourself first! Set an example, and then encourage everyone you know to also donate to you.
• The best way to get donations is by word of mouth! Start by asking your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, members of your clubs/organizations, etc.
• Communicate to all potential donors! Emails, phone calls, letters, Facebook messages, Twitter posts, etc., are all ways to reach potential donors.
• Set a high (but achievable) walk goal, and promise to do something special if it is achieved (kiss a pig, shave your head, walk backwards at the event, etc.).
• Remind potential donors that 100% of the funds you raised will stay local to help those living in need in your community.
• Briefly explain to potential donors the reasons why they should support the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
• Create a team online, and have a friendly competition to see who can raise the most funds within your team.

2014 Movie Bingo Tickets2014 Put the Nuns in Charge Tickets

Movie Bingo – You’ll be laughing so hard, you’ll have to be careful watching your bingo cards!

Vicki Quade, creator of the hit comedy Late Night Catechism, brings to life a new comedy about fundraising and bingo.  There is something for everyone here as movies are looked at through the fun lens of the Catholic faith.  Which Pope wanted to be an actor?  Which movie star became a nun?  What movies are condemned by the Catholic Church?  Lots of Hollywood trivia!  Everyone gets to play bingo and potentially win some wacky prizes…what could be more fun?!  Movie Bingo will begin at 3:00 pm on May 17, 2014.

Put the Nuns in Charge – The hilarious show that makes you laugh so hard, it ought to be a sin!

Mrs. Mary Margaret O’Brien gives her own take on the Golden Rule and has something to say on everything from skirt length to cell phones.  The Seven Deadly Sins get their turn in the spotlight as Mrs. O’Brien shows how they apply to modern-day behavior.  Experience the delicious shock of recognition when you return to the classroom of your youth!  Put the Nuns in Charge will begin at 7:00 pm on May 17, 2014.

Tickets Available for Purchase for $25 until 5/10 (prices go to $30 the week before the show).  Hurry! They’re going fast!

Ticket prices are $25 pre-sale and $30 the week of the show (May 10th – 17th) and include food and a door prize raffle entry. Alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase.  Click here to purchase tickets or come to the Parish Hall on May 10 & 11.  Seats are limited and sell outs are expected, so make your plans now.  See you at the show!

Donate Your Car

Why Giving to SVDP is Unique

A.  The Society of St. Vincent de Paul directly serves the poor and those in need in your own community and in communities around the world. The proceeds from your vehicle donation will  provide essential needs such as food, shelter and housing, elderly care, medicines and much more. Society volunteers strive to seek out and help those in need in countless communities throughout the United States. No work of charity is foreign to the Society.
A.  Yes.  Based on your zip code, your donation benefits the local St Vincent de Paul chapter in your area.    For Frisco, that means your donation will directly come back to support local Frisco residents.    Since our founding in 2008, we have provided assistance to many thousands of local families and individuals.

 Q. Are vehicles utilized by families in need?

A. Yes, and those needs may vary by community. The SVDP National Vehicle Donation Program is both a fundraiser  and a way to assist those  in need. Depending on the need, we turn your vehicle into program and services dollars- or if it is desired by a local SVDP, your donation may provide transportation to someone allowing them the dignity of keeping a job to support their family

A. We look at each car and evaluate the “Best Venue Decision” to raise the most money. We will look at the Wholesale auction market, depending on condition.

recycle We also consider the recycling of vehicles to be good business and good for the environment. A recycled car can be used for car replacement parts. Scrap metal yards also specialize in taking old metal and selling it to companies to turn into new item.
